Men’s Road Cycling World Championships

The Men’s Road Cycling World Championships is an annual race where riders compete for the prestigious rainbow jersey, which the winner wears for a year. The course varies each year but typically features a challenging circuit with climbs and technical descents. Unlike the Grand Tours, riders compete for their national teams, not trade teams.

First held in 1927, past winners include Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Greg LeMond, Peter Sagan, and Remco Evenepoel. The race is one of the most prestigious in cycling, as only a select few ever wear the rainbow jersey.
