First Quebec Fixed Gear Champion
Velo iBike wants to send a huge congrats to Nicolas Cote. He was able to take the Championship over Maximilien Moreau. The 2 riders broke away from the peloton early in the race and were never seen again. Remi Fagnan put in a gallant effort to close the gap but he was all alone as both Team iBike and The Pack both had riders in the break. No other teams were to help him and his efforts fell short. Nico and his “boss-sized” sprinting legs were enough to pull away from Max during the 400m uphill sprint to the finish line. We are very excited to see how the 2019 championship will unfold on the same track in Victoriaville. Will Max have what he needs to move up one step on the podium in front of his home town crowd?
Here at IBIKE, we have been working hard on building the community and creating the frame work that allows a new sport to develop. Fixed gear racing is now being recognized on local and international levels. We are not going to stop working to ensure the sport continues to grow. This will not happen without your support. Come to the races to take the start line and test your legs against some of the best in the world or come to cheer for your favorite rider. Montreal and Quebec should be proud of the depth and future of its cycling culture.
